Blossoming bougainvilleas in Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park in Futian District have been attracting throngs of visitors recently. The 66-hectare park is a famous site for viewing bougainvilleas, which are in full bloom from the end of March to early April. Other most visited sites include Lianhua Hill Park in Futian District and Bougainvillea Valley in Bao'an District. The bougainvillea, the city flower of Shenzhen, is widely adored by Shenzhen residents due to its gorgeous color, natural beauty and prolific distribution.

The Shenzhen Bao'an Marathon 2022 kicked off at Haibin Square in Bao'an District at 7:30 a.m. yesterday. A total of 18,000 runners took part in the event.

The 24th Shenzhen Traditional Martial Arts Tournament, which took place at Longhua Culture and Sports Center in Longhua District on Saturday, gathered 900 martial arts experts, inheritors and enthusiasts specialized in different traditional martial arts categories, including traditional boxing and Mulan boxing, to compete on the site.

A bazaar was held at Futian Mangrove Ecological Park yesterday, the 45th National Tree Planting Day. Organized by Shenzhen Mangrove Conservation Foundation, the event aimed to increase public understanding of the importance of mangroves and awareness of mangrove ecosystems protection. Shenzhen, which will be home to world's first international mangrove center, has 296 hectares of mangrove forests, according to official data.
